  • Awarded the 2020 College Ready Florida Innovator of the Year by the Florida College Access Network
  • Awarded the 2018 State of Florida Workforce Partner of the Year by the Florida Workforce Development Association
  • Held the office of President to the Florida Association of Student Services Administrators in 2016
  • In the 2020-2021 school year while serving as Deputy Superintendent, Marion County Public Schools outperformed the state average in the 11 Florida Standards Assessment categories moving the district’s state ranking from 50 to 45
  • Marion County’s Career & Technical Education Department (CTE) was recognized as one of 11 Innovative Districts throughout the country by the International Center of Leadership in Education while serving as Executive Director
  • During the years serving as Executive Director of Career & Technical Education and Deputy Superintendent, graduation rates improved by eight percentage points (78.5% to 86.5%)
  • Career and Technical Education experienced a 166% increase (747 to 1990) in nationally recognized industry certifications earned by students while serving as Executive Director
  • Initiated the development, implementation, and promotion of the Marion County Public Schools innovative Career Planning Guide to ensure every student graduates with an identified post-secondary pathway of either employment, enrollment, or enlistment
  • In 2009, Marion Technical Institute was selected to present at the National Model Schools Conference the use of gaming in the classroom to engage, excite and extend student learning both in and out of the classroom while serving as principal
  • In 2008, Marion Technical Institute was selected to present at the National Model Schools Conference its relationship with the local business community and the positive impact it made on education in regard to student internships, national certifications, and curriculum development while serving as principal
  • Marion Technical Institute received a Recognition of Excellence award from the U.S. Department of Labor for outstanding partnership with Citrus, Levy, Marion (CLM) Workforce Connection while serving as principal
  • Led East Marion Elementary to its first-ever A school grade while serving as principal
  • Presented a variety of innovative and best practices to various community, political and service organizations, as well as at national and state conferences, including the Model Schools Conference, the Florida College Network Access Summit, the Florida Association of School Administrators state conference, the Florida School Board Association summer conference, and the National Drop Out Prevention Network conference
