Susan (Su) Miscia

Su (Susan) Miscia, hails from NJ, after experiencing multiple careers creating a sense of purpose. Su has a B.S. in Sociology, and MSW from Rutger’s Graduate School of Social Work – working in that helping field many years. Su has an inactive real estate broker’s license from New Jersey and owned an ERA franchise there for years, and lastly worked as an EMT and New Jersey certified Paramedic. Su was President of Manasquan Seniors, a group of 100, for eight years prior to retiring to Florida.

Su is an active community member in Punta Gorda’s Burnt Store Isles and was Social Director for four years, still helping on committee. Su is presently the Rear Commodore of Burnt Store Isles Boat Club.

Su and her partner Dave Martens retired to Punta Gorda and fell in love with and interested in the goals and continued existence of the Military Heritage Museum, volunteering for all activities that required a few more hands on deck. Sadly, Dave passed away in February of 2022 after an illness, preventing him to achieve his Military Heritage Museum goals. Su’s desire to fulfill these dreams for the museum will live on. Su has taken charge of Hospitality at the museum, serving as an Ambassador and volunteering at many of social events and concerts happening in the museum and Gulf Theater.
